Skills for the Complete Skater

The Norwich Skating School is a not-for-profit organization designed to provide a balanced, high-quality recreational and competitive program for skaters interested in working in a team environment while, at the same time, achieving their own personal best.

The Norwich Skating School's mission is to develop skaters in all aspects and abilities of figure skating. The school offers a relaxed but focused that encourages skaters to learn and compete at their own levels while simultaneously achieving team goals.

The Ice Skating Institute

The Norwich Skating School incorporates the Ice Skating Institute skating program and philosophy and is intended for skaters who are too advanced for the Learn To Skate Program but are not quite ready or are unsure about competing and testing at the U.S. Figure Skating level. By competing and training in the intermediary level, skaters build confidence and ability.

NSS coaches follow the ISI-designed testing curriculum. Skaters are tested on a regular basis to assess their progress. Parents and the skater receive written feedback about progress at each testing period.

NSS skaters also are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of skating-related activities, exhibitions, workshops and off-ice conditioning.

The Norwich Skating School is based at the Norwich Municipal Rink in Norwich, Connecticut.
